Meet the Doctor

Dr. Tanner Godfrey was raised in Logan, Utah, attending high school at Mountain Crest. He attended Utah State University for his bachelor's degree in biochemistry. Upon completion, he and his family moved to the deep south to Birmingham Alabama (UAB) where he completed a dual dental degree (DMD) with PhD training in biochemistry. Dr. Godfrey completed his orthodontics residency training at UAB.

During Dr. Godfrey’s 10 years in the South, he and his wife Nicole gained an appreciation for good barbeque and a southern accent – which they are hoping will stick with their 4 children Kate, Morgan, Porter and Jack!

Dr. Godfrey enjoys wood working, snowboarding, wake surfing, basketball and spending time with his family, especially in the outdoors!

Professionally, Dr. Godfrey is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Association for Dental Oral and Craniofacial Research and the Tweed Foundation. He often participates in advocacy efforts for orthodontics, dentistry and research.

He has a passion for research and has published several peer reviewed articles concerning bone development, tooth development, cleft lip and palate treatment approaches and AI technology in orthodontics.
